The Society of CIC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to professional insurance education. The Program providesan in-depth practical approach to education for insurance agents and other insurance practitioners. The CIC Program is designed to meet the practicing insurance professional's need for technical knowledge in all areas of the insurance industry. CIC institutes include: Personal Lines, Commercial Casualty, Commercial Property, Life and Health, and Agency Management. Offered across the United States and its territories throughout the calendar year, each institute consists of two and one-half days of intensive instruction followed by a rigorous essay examination. The successful completion of all five examinations leads to the right to use the designation Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). CIC's must attend 20 hours of program education each year to maintain their designation.
